Abstract & Keywords
This Article focuses on a particular acquisition model, called symbiotic acquisition in theorical literature. The goal of this acquisition is to create new resources based upon specific firm qualities. The symbiosis policy involves management of contradictory requirements. The aim is to create strategic interdependencies while limiting value-destroying initiatives. In an approach emphasizing innovation, cultural diversity is a valuable resource and preservation of the specific features of the acquired entity is a necessity. We show that under such a framework ensuring that both these principles (ambiguous goals; dissensus; free initiatives; emerging actions) are achieved is not through one simplistic management action but through an integrated, systems approach.
